Katy is the only person I know to have a wedding, a new husband, a honeymoon and her birthday all in one week! I mean, what more could a girl ask for?! Katy and JD were married a almost two weeks ago at one of our favorite churches, First Presbyterian Church in Kinston, NC! We always love shooting in this beautiful church. I’m not sure if it’s the modern architecture or the stunning stained glass windows, but it’s one of our favorites. Before their wedding JD gave Katy the most unexpected gift – a card full of lottery tickets, yes lottery tickets. I have seriously never laughed so hard in my life. According to Katy, buying a lottery ticket is a tradition each time they go to the grocery store and we loved that JD thought of incorporating that into her gift!  A beautiful ceremony and a few scratch offs later, guests celebrated at Kinston Country Club with one of our all time favorite wedding bands – The Dickens Band. If you have never heard of them before, do yourself a favor and click the link before you go any further – they are amazing.  We knew from the start Katy and JD’s wedding was going to be a fun filled day, but we were not anticipating the hurricane-like rain storm of the century to show up in time for their sparkler exit (see JD’s face in the image below haha). Regardless, the show went on as we all crowded around under the porch and sent the couple off running through the sparklers and right back to the party! Many, many congrats Katy & JD!  We wish you years of happiness and lucky lottery tickets! 

Each bridesmaid wrote Katy a note to read before her wedding. It was the sweetest thing ever.
