We’ve been looking forward to this wedding day for what seems like years! We’ve known Shu through one of Jana’s best friends for a few years and we were so excited when Shu and Chris asked us to shoot their wedding. Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden is a beautiful venue outside of Charlotte. The morning of the wedding the girls got ready at a hotel while the guys stayed a Shu and Chris’ house, mainly to make sure that Rupert, their bunny, had company. I know it sounds like I’m kidding, but Shu loves that rabbit just as much as I love my dogs so I’m guessing it was a requirement! On top of having the guys to hang out with, Rupert was well loved by us and during the reception by a bunny-sitter. 

Once everyone arrived to Daniel Stowe, Shu and Chris shared their first look in the Conservatory which is a green house type area with orchids, tropical foliage and arches made of air plants and then it was on to the bridal party photos! With the sky being a bit gloomy all day we found some well lit areas and right when we were taking Chris and Shu back around the gardens for their portraits and sun came out briefly and created some gorgeous lighting – yay! 

The ceremony was short and sweet, and the guests cheered for the parents, groomsmen and bridesmaids and Shu and her dad as they walked down the aisle – something that neither preacher, the planner or we had ever seen before but we loved the energy of it! That just meant the reception was going to be a blast and it was!
