When Rachel mentioned she wanted to do her session in Colonial Williamsburg and then a marina, I was so excited for two reasons. One, I hadn’t ever shot in Williamsburg before and I LOVE going to new places to shoot. Two, marina means water and boats and I’m always down for that. It was a gorgeous fall day, we met at Colonial Williamsburg and did a quick shot with Rachel, Tanner and their pup, who was the taken on a nice long walk with Rachel’s parents! I had already found some spots that I knew I wanted to take Rachel and Tanner, so off we went!
One spot in particular had a really pretty wooden fence with some horses who would look great grazing in the background. Well, long story short, one of those horses wanted to be front and center. So for a few minutes we let him be the center of attention and then moved to another spot along the fence, where he proceeded to sneak up from behind Rachel and Tanner, reach through the fence and nudge Rachel in the side. I would have warned them, but it all happened so fast and I may or may not have been laughing really hard. You’ll see a few of the photos below.
Once we were done in Colonial Williamsburg, we headed to the marina, where I learned that Rachel is my kind of girl and doesn’t mind a bit of bird poop on the dock in her bare feet. We won’t go into what “a bit” means, we’ll just leave it at that. Rachel and Tanner toasted their engagement with some champagne and we watched the sunset! We’re so excited for their wedding next spring!
