Rose Hill Wedding Photographer | Emillee + Dmitry Married

Emillee and Dmitry were married a few weeks ago at the beautiful Rose Hill Plantation, which happens to be one of our favorite venues! This venue has it all- a big white historic house with a huge porch, a pond filled with white swans and Emillee and Dmitry’s favorite thing…cows! When we first started talking about where they wanted to take photos, we thought Dmitry was kidding when he said with the cows. Boy were we wrong. When Jana casually mentioned that “oh, there’s the cows” when we went out for sunset pictures the two of them literally took off running in the 95 degree heat towards the cows. I can’t make this up. They were literally headed for the hills!  As most of you know, most of our weekends are filled with multiple weddings and we get to see a lot of fun and different wedding traditions. These two had several traditions that were new to us! First, a “salt and bread ceremony” which comes with a toast from the parents of the bride and groom followed by a contest of who can take a bigger bite of bread.  The second fun tradition was the stealing of the bride, a Russian tradition. During the reception Emillee was “stolen” away and replaced by one of Dmitry’s friends in a wedding gown and veil. Once Dmitry realizes Emillee has been stolen he has to “prove” himself by singing or dancing. He chose dancing and absolutely killed it! Congratulations Emillee and Dmitry – we had a great time celebrating with you!
