Well first things first, the photo below is Courtenay and Jonny’s pup, Bailey. She’s the sweetest (and so well behaved!), and we got to meet her while the girls were getting ready. Lucky us! Now that we got the obligatory dog photo out of the way, we can move on to Courtenay and Jonny.

I (Michele) have been excited about this wedding since the first time I met Courtenay and Jonny. They are fellow Upstate New Yorkers, and when you’re a northern transplant to a very southern Eastern North Carolina, you naturally have a special bond with other Yankees. Plus, these two are so sweet, laid back and just fun to be around. They both moved to North Carolina completely separately, having been acquaintances at a college in New York, but never really hanging out. Once they learned that they were both in Raleigh, NC they began hanging out and the rest is history!

The wedding day arrived and it was a bit rainy. By rainy I mean it was raining. All. Day. Never once did Courtenay or Jonny worry about it. All of their awesome vendors and bridal party made it work and it turned out perfectly! The ceremony was in a church in Raleigh and the reception was at The Boondocks, an old fire station turned wedding venue just outside of Raleigh (check them out – the venue is gorgeous).

We loved getting to see another part of the MP Family –  Jess and Will – one of our our of state couples from last year!   

Part way through the reception, Courtenay and Jonny got Iced and downed them like troopers. If you don’t know what this is, google it now.

At one point during the reception, we needed to pull Courtenay and Jonny outside for a few last photos, except Jonny was no where to be found. We searched every where. I happened to come around the corner to take a photo of Jonny’s brother DJ’ing and there was Jonny, rapping his heart out.
