Cara and Justin had a gorgeous wedding day at Prestonwood Country Club in Cary, NC. We had been patiently waiting for their big day ever since we photographed Justin’s proposal to Cara at ECU over a year ago! Their day was absolutely perfect, from their first look where Justin presented Cara with her bouquet, which he designed himself as a surprise to her (it was gorgeous!), to the ceremony in front of the beautiful staircase and the fun-filled reception. We actually joked with their wedding planner that the day really couldn’t have gone any more smoothly and that once we got past dinner, there really wasn’t anything that could go wrong.
Well, apparently we shouldn’t have said anything, because about 10 minutes later the fire alarm went off. At first, the band continued to play and guests kept dancing but eventually we were told to evacuate and then came the fire trucks! We never actually found out what had happened, but we did get some awesome photos of Cara and Justin in front of the fire trucks before everyone was let back inside and the party continued as if nothing happened! It just goes to show, no wedding day goes exactly as planned and if you just roll with the punches, it makes for a great story (just wait ’til next weeks blog posts with Hurricane Matthew playing a part).
Cara and Justin we are so so so happy for you!!
