Kennedy and John had the most beautiful wedding a few weekends ago in Kinston, North Carolina! The ceremony took play at the First Presbyterian Church and the reception was held at the Kinston Country Club! Not unlike most of our recent weddings, there was some rain in the forecast, but we all made it through without getting too wet!
One of my favorite details from the day was the pearl necklace that Kennedy wore. Her grandparents gifted her a pearl each year since she was a kid to eventually make the necklace. Such a unique and awesome gift!
While most of our wedding blog posts talk a little more in depth about the wedding, Kennedy and John have the BEST story about how they met, and I want to share that instead!
John and Kennedy like to say they met when he unintentionally kidnapped her a few years ago on a hike. Kennedy and John separately attended a hike coordinated by an outdoor group they were both in. When Kennedy’s carpool group decided to leave the hike early, John agreed to give Kennedy a ride back to Greenville. All was seemingly going as well as two strangers riding together through the wilderness can go, until John accidentally got lost and then made a joke about kidnapping Kennedy and she made moves to jump out of the truck. The two safely made it back to Greenville and started dating soon after. Kennedy has since learned that John has an incredibly dry sense of humor and John knows that Kennedy always has a plan…
